SafeWay AI ("the app", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy
explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your
rights regarding your data.
1. Data We Collect
Account Information
- Email address — used to create and identify your account.
- Name — displayed in your profile and used for personalization.
- Apple ID identifier (only if you choose Sign in with Apple) — Apple
provides us a stable, opaque user ID. We store this to recognize you across
sessions. If you choose "Hide my email", Apple gives us a relay address; we
cannot see your real email.
Device & Usage Data
- Camera (drowsiness detection) — used ONLY while a driving session is
active. Eye-state analysis runs entirely on your device using TensorFlow
Lite and Apple CoreML. Camera frames are NEVER transmitted, stored, or
shared with any server or third party. Only the resulting labels
(open / half-closed / closed) are persisted as part of your drive summary.
- Precise Location (GPS) — used only while the app is open, to display
nearby gas stations, rest areas, and provide route/weather-based safety tips.
- Drive session data — duration, performance score, and eye-state labels
produced by our on-device AI model. Raw frames are NOT saved, only the labels.
- Chat messages — when you use the AI Assistant, your messages are sent to
third-party AI providers (see Section 3). You are shown an explicit consent
dialog the first time you open the assistant.
Purchase Information
- Purchase history / subscription status — provided by Apple and RevenueCat
to activate Premium features.
Technical Data
- Device identifiers (anonymous) — to prevent abuse and rate-limit requests.
- Crash and performance logs — to diagnose issues. Not linked to identity.
